Ms. Shimegami walked through the small portal of her classroom, located in the dungeons of the SilverLeaf Academy. Her class was already seated and waiting for instruction, acting like little angels.
O.K., so her class was a little routy, having two students currently in a locked fist fight and a small fire started in the back, but nothing Ms. Shimegami couldn't handle. This probably wouldn't have happened if she didn't have a hangover, the after effects of the sake and vodka mixed drink the night before.
Grumbling, Ms. Shimegami plopped her briefcase onto the desk and paged a custodian to put out the fire. The noise grew louder in the classroom after the one boy was tossed through the air towards the potions cabinet. Ms. Shimegami groaned audibly, knowing she would have to take care of the fight sooner or later.
She calmly drew closer to the fighting couple, surprised by the strength of the one girl. It kind of reminded her of the frequent fights she had with her eleventh late husband, the ex-pro wrestler. The fights were bloody, but the way they made up afterwards was amazing, with her animal-like enthusiasm and the incredible flexibility of his...ahem, um, refocusing on the fight, Ms. Shimegami pulled a small, tightly wrapped pouch out of her jacket pocket. It wriggled slightly as she tugged at the golden string.
The crowd grew suddenly silent as they finally noticed the teacher standing near them, opening a strange black pouch. The two fighting students still didn't notice until it was too late. A sudden rush of air sped through the room, snuffing out a few of the candles. The couple was shocked to find themselves seemingly suspended in the air, held still by a mysterious force. Peering at the wall, one of the students gave a sudden shriek. A dark, looming shadow could be seen clutching the two students by the nape of their necks.
Smirking at the deafening silence, Ms. Shimegami gave an ear- piercing whistle, causing everyone to snap their attention back on her and the creature to drop its captives. Cringing at having made her headache worse, Ms. Shimegami held open the black pouch and commanded "Requiescat in Pace!" Another gust of wind blew in, this time back towards the pouch. The shadow on the wall became distorted, smaller, and disappeared into the pouch. Ms. Shimegami quickly tied the golden string tightly around the top.
All the students stood dumbfounded, staring at Ms. Shimegami. After regaining her composure, one of the students quietly asked, "What was that thing?"
"That was an invisible Theid, one of the many undead creatures I just so happen to keep on my person."
"What did you say to get it back into the bag?" naively asked another student.
"What, you don't know latin? That's the only language those creatures know. I just told it to Requiescat in Pace, otherwise known as Rest in Peace," answered Ms. Shimegami, smiling smugly. "Now, let's get started with class."
{Ring!}
"Oh, drat. That's the bell. Go to your next class, please. We'll continue our discussion about undead creatures next week. Make sure to read up on chapter three in your books about invisible Theids, because I'm sure that won't be the last time you see my adorable little creature."
Shuffling a few papers back into her briefcase, Ms. Shimegami thought it the perfect time to kick back and take a break after all the hard work she did this morning. Time for a little alcoholic refresher to get rid of the ever-pounding headache of the day. Until next class!
